This is a most unusual & very early candle box in excellent original & untouched condition. Carved from a piece of oak.  Charming early iron repair. The Tudor Rose (1485-1603) carving & deep patina suggests a probable 15th/16th century antiquity. Possible ecclesial origin? Stunning!
