Unusual Antique 19th Century Twin Candle Lantern
This is an unusual lantern in that it now offers scope to burn two candles simultaneously. It is three sided comprising two glazed sections and a solid back which lifts to access the interior. Charming lidded circular vent to the top with a cute brass clasp. There is a small brass feature and patent mark to the interior and exterior base (respectively) which suggest that at some point in its history the lantern may have also had an oil burner; perhaps linked to the larger central candle recess in the base. In superb overall condition the two glass panels are not original.
