Painted Georgian Ceiling Sconce

£165.00
Sold Out

A remarkable decorative survivor from the 18th century which would have originally been attached to a ceiling and probably used for attaching a lantern. Classic Georgian muted duck egg & pink hues with great aged patination. The piece retains its original blacksmith made iron hook. Today this most unusual antique could be attached to a suitable ceiling/wall or used as a charming decorative item in its own right (the hook protruding from the base could be removed with a hacksaw or other suitable tool).

Dimensions of the wooden sconce (W, H & D): 24x30x 6. The iron attachment hook runs through the centre of the sconce and is approximately 17cm long.

Postage included. Royal Mail Special Delivery with appropriate insurance to at least the value of the item.
