A charmingly executed 19th Century study of a riverside cottage. Two girls watch ducks in a stream from a bridge. A well-trodden path meanders through fields towards a distant village with further ducks & geese evident. Some mottling of, & minor nicks to, the canvas commensurate with the piece’s age but very good colour retention. Indistinctly signed ‘Jos Houset’ 1868’ (?). Period pine frame.
