The maker has used a variety fabric to create a realistic representation of a country girl taking her wares to market. Lovely facial expression & cute wicker basket - complete with berries! On her skirt is stitched the following sweet verse: “Lispeth’s gone a-marketing, Her basket full of berries, If she can but sell a few, Her spirit will be merry.”
