Circa late 19th or early 20th century this is an adjustable painted toleware and brass twin candle lamp with the shade being able to move up and down the riser according to the height of the burning candles. The piece retains its original dark red paint with the shade being decorated by pretty floral swags. Where visible, the brass has its original old dark patina. A charming totally original early example – many of these have now been electrically converted.
